Tune Ups

Our Pro and Team Tune Ups are the top value for performance.  Both go the extra mile to ensure that your bike is ready and  is operating properly.  The Team Tune Up is your standard performance Tune Up with a few tweaks.  All wear items (tires, brake pads, chain) are checked and measured for wear and their amount of use left is noted on the repair tag.  The wheels are trued and tensioned  to proper spec.  The Pro Tune Up is the same quality of maintenance that the pros receive during races like the Tour de France and MTB World Cups.  The Basic Tune is the budget tune to help take care of a package of minor adjustments.

Team Tune Up $75, includes:

  • Bike is washed.
  • Drivetrain is cleaned and lubed.
  • Chain is digitally checked and recorded for wear.
  • Cables and housing are replaced as needed.
  • All bearing surfaces (headset, hubs, bottom bracket) are adjusted.
  • Wheels are trued and tensioned to proper tolerances.
  • Derailleurs are adjusted.
  • Brakes are adjusted and pads checked for wear.

Pro Tune Up $100, includes:

  • Same service as the Team Tune Up, plus
  • All cables and housing are replaced.
  • Road Bikes receive new handlebar tape.
  • Mountain Bikes will have disc brakes bled.

Basic Tune Up $50 includes:

  • Bike is wiped down.
  • Chain is digitally checked and recorded for wear.
  • Derailleurs are adjusted.
  • Brakes are adjusted.
  • All bearing surfaces (headset, hubs, bottom bracket) are adjusted.
  • Wheels are trued.

Adjustments

All adjustments on bikes are priced on a sliding scale, depending on the time and difficulty of the repair.  Service Course Velo does not believe in locking the customer into a flat rate for simple adjustments.  Quite often minor adjustments are very simple and quick.  The customer shouldn’t have to pay more because the labor rate is based off an estimated average.

  • Derailleur Adjustment $5-10.
  • Brake Adjustment $5-10.
  • Bearing Adjustment (Headset, Bottom Bracket, Hubs) $5-10.
  • Wheel Truing or Spoke Replacement $10-25.

Similar to the rates for adjustments, installations are also typically based on a sliding scale with a few exceptions.
